Curry Hammock is quiet, clean and in a good location and a new sand beach has been added. Even though there is no wave action, shallow water wind surfing, kite flying and beach combing can be fun. You are able to Kayak around the entire Island in 90 min or less. Many guests are not aware of the bay side fishing and swimming/snorkeling area  ( West side of Hwy 1 ) accessed off the paved bike trail. A hiking trail is there for nature lovers. A bit buggy at times so take proper precautions. It is an easy 2 mile bike ride into town from here.

Ranger let programs are also offered, and they have large back-in RV sites with Ocean views, but most do not have direct access to the beach because of Sea Oats and vegitation protecting  the Dunes. It is still a bit of a secret that RV's are allowed.

There is no boat ramp on State Property, however several launch sites within a few miles are available.

Great birding area and there is a festival in late September. Florida Keys Birding & Wildlife Festival
