Historic Espanola Way has hosted some colorful characters throughout the years, including Al Capone and the crew from Miami Vice. The stretch between Washington and Drexel Avenues is a great example of Miami's Mediterranean Revival style of architecture. The buildings were built in the mid 1920's and add a lot of charm to this narrow little street.
While Lincoln Road has been taken over by the tedious chains one can see in every city & mall, Espanola Way remains free of even one Starbucks! Every restaurant, shop or art gallery here is unique and independently owned. Add to that a quaint weekend market, a yoga studio and a massage center as well as a trendy Italian hair salon and you start to get the picture.
Espanola Way is the perfect place to sit at an outdoor restaurant and relax, go shopping for unusual gifts and other goodies to take home to friend and family or to hit during the night for some live music and some great cocktails.Occasionally you may find a free outdoor bellydance show, live jazz on weekend afternoons or a stylish fashion show hosted by one of the stores or restaurants.
