Background
Developed in Orlando , Aquatica is a whimsical, one-of-a-kind water park only SeaWorld could create. Aquatica blends up-close animal experiences, waters from serene to extreme, high-speed thrills and wide, sandy beaches.
The park officially opened in March 2008
Aquatica Overview
The look and feel of Aquatica is inspired by the vivid color, stunning flora and the carefree personality of the South Sea Islands :
- Crystal-blue rivers wind through hidden grottos and refreshing waterfalls
- Rich greenery and bright flowers surround towering rock formations
- Stunning sand beaches line the shores.
Aquatica successfully captures the essence of an aquatic paradise with over 3 million gallons of water in lagoons, rivers and racing rides; 3 million pounds of sand on more than 83,000 square feet of beach! To further the sense of scenery, vibrant flora represents exotic destinations from all over the world. More than 2,500 different types of distinctive trees include monkey puzzle trees from Chile , pineapple guava trees from Brazil and flowering silk oak trees from Australia .
Animals from all over the world including black and white Commerson’s dolphins, brilliant macaws and colorful fish add to the park’s playful, high-energy atmosphere. Guests zoom and float through these amazing animal habitats, creating the most thrilling water park rides in the world. Visitors also will encounter unusual birds and animals such as kookaburras, anteaters and iguanas in walk-around interaction opportunities. Goodwill ambassadors of the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund, these animals inspire guests to learn more about the environment and conservation.
