Discovery Cove is a beautiful, tropical oasis. The park is well run, and the entire staff is very friendly. Buy the picture CD that the park sells if members of your group are doing the dolphin swim. Their close up pictures are great quality, and you will not be able to get such a good angle on pictures you take yourself, but it is worth looking for a good vantage point to take your own videos and pictures.

Although the park is expensive, it is a good value considering everything that is included.  Admission includes 14 days unlimited admission to SeaWorld and Aquatica.  You can also add on Busch Gardens in Tampa for $25.00. All your food and drinks and parking at Discovery Cove, as well as a free photo of your group when you enter DC. The park's restaurant is open from 7:30 AM to 3:45PM, and there are also Snack Bars providing chips, cookies, hot pretzels, beer, wine, frozen drinks,  soft drinks and coffee. You can also request kosher food in advance. This site recommends pool shoes, but honestly they are not necessary but beware in really hot weather. Nowhere is it uncomfortable to walk (including in the snorkeling area). In fact, the white powdery sand throughout the park feels wonderful on your feet! The snorkeling is so easy to do once you get the hang of it, and the fish are so beautiful. The water in the lazy river is warm and the tropical landscape surrounding it is so beautiful. The Freshwater Oasis has Macaws, Marmoset Monkeys and Asian Otters is another favorite spot with warm water. There are waterfalls and a cave in the lazy river, as well as birds perched in the trees since the aviary is in the area. Get there early as the day will fly by.  During the warmer months definitely arrive early for a smooth check in.  They open their front doors between 7:00-7:15 AM allowing you to have breakfast, get changed and settle on the beach before the other attractions open at 9:00.  During the warm months the Dolphin interactions start as early as 8:30 AM which allows you to miss the afternoon thunderstorms that are common.

It's an expensive treat, with the highlight being the swim with the dolphins but it is a once in a lifetime experience.
