With two visitor information center locations to serve you, 14 N. Lemon Avenue, Sarasota and The Mall at University Town Center (140 University Town Center Drive) on the southwest corner of I-75 and University Parkway, there are plenty of friendly staff on hand to help organize your day. The Centers are part of Visit Sarasota County located at 1777 Main Street - Suite 302 in Sarasota.

Before traveling, you can go online to http://www.visitsarasota.org and order a free Official Sarasota Visitor Guide or simply call at 1-800-522-97991-800-522-97991-800-522-97991-800-522-9799. On the website (it has a Spanish and German version), you'll be able to print maps, check the weather and find additional information about accommodation facilities, dining, outdoor activities, attractions and shopping. You'll be able to view and print a monthly calendar of events for the area. You'll be surprised with the variety and international offerings of the city.

At http://www.discovernaturalsarasota.org you’ll find plenty of information about Sarasota parks and treasures, and suggestions about activities to do outdoors.

Another website that you should check out is http://www.see-sarasota.com/ . It doesn’t offer as much information as the Convention and Visitors Bureau site, but it will give you a richer panorama of your options when you are in town.

The state's website, Visit Florida.com, has a story on the Sarasota area, as well as profiles of some of the neighboring islands, including Anna Maria and Siesta Key.
