Stuart has a great old town area. It is known by a circle that directs traffic called "confusion corner". In this area are shops, a vintage theater with live shows, outdoor cafes, art studios and shows. The pizza available on the sidewalk is great. Sit and have a slice and watch the goings on. Walk past town one minute to a great view of the river.
There is a large flea market on Highway 1 Saturday and Sunday each week. New and used items are featured . Great variety of food, easy parking and great place to people watch.
Lots of different restaurants. Highway 1 has a deli called Twojays that has really wonderful food and deserts. There is a movie theater in that same center with a variety of movies.
While you are in Stuart go to lock road and watch the locks for the inland waterways. You can watch boats go through the locks and see lots of information on this waterway system.
There are lots of parks, outdoor recreation and history. Make sure you see the ancient black cemetery located on the corner of Kanner highway and Indian. This is a hidden treasure of history. It is a block away from the red cross is you cannot locate it.
Stuart is the sailfish capital of the world. This large sport fish are caught and released here. Fishing is wonderful in the Stuart area.
