For those who don’t wish to drive around the city, taxis, trolleys and busses are all viable options. Taxis are generally not easy to flag down on the streets of Tallahassee but are efficient when called. Yellow Cab and City Taxi are the two preferred taxi services in Tallahassee. Rates are typically $1.50 per mile.For people who prefer public transportation, the trolley is best for limited area rides and the busses are better for longer rides. The trolley runs on Adams Street, operating every twenty minutes Monday through Friday from seven in the morning until six thirty in the evening. It is free to ride and is an excellent way to see historic Tallahassee. To get around the rest of the city, use StarMetro, the city’s bus system.
