Don't miss the Gold Museum's exhibitions of mining equipment and coins manufactured by the local U.S. Branch Mint. Watch the documentary that is all about the golden days of this once mining town. The museum is located at the Lumpkin County Courthouse built in 1836 and it is open Monday to Saturdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sundays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
