The Bailiwick Arts Center closed its doors in December 2008. Its resident company, Bailiwick Repertory Theatre, was reformed into a new entity called Bailiwick Chicago in November 2009. The company is itinerant and produces out of various rental houses in the Chicago area. For more information, visit www.bailiwickchicago.com.
The Bailiwick Reperatory Theater is a hidden gem in Chicago! Recently showing the Hunchback of Notre Dame. It is like sitting in the front row of a Broadway show. The theatre is in a cute, small town feel location with quaint resturants and bars. Public transportaion (brownline and redline) are in walking distance. The theatre is small and has a very intimate feel, but do not be surprised when you are blown away from the talent on stage. Think Broadway, but with better seats and intimacy. This not for profit theatre is starting to catch on, the place was sold out on a Thursday Night and everyone talked only of how great the show was.
