Getting around the heart of Lexington is easy, and there are plenty of attractions, restaurants and shops within walking distance of major hotels in the downtown area. The buildings surrounding Triangle Park are connected by pedways.

Venturing further out visitors can rely on the intra-city bus system and taxicabs, but renting a car is also simple enough. The Blue Grass Airport is only a 10-minute drive from downtown, as is Keeneland Race Course. Cabs are available at the airport, and can be called at other parts of the city.

Driving around the Lexington area shouldn’t offer any major difficulties to visitors, and even at rush hour the Highways and Interstates are not to be feared. If you’re driving into the city watch for local parking restrictions, but finding a spot shouldn’t present too much of a challenge. For those flying into the city most major rental car companies are located at the airport, with service counters in the baggage claim area.
