Bangor is full of great museums and entertaining places to visit that are great for the whole family. A major attraction that the city boasts is the one of the area's largest children's museums, the Maine Discovery Museum which is a three storey building full of exhibits. For those interested in transportation, the Cole Land Transportation Museum covers the entire range of land transportation in Maine, from the largest collection of snow plows under on roof, to an entire train and railroad station.  It is also the location of a 1890's style covered bridge and home of the Maine World War II Memorial and a Maine Vietnam Memorial.
