There are numerous cultural attractions in the city of Camden and the areas surrounding it, which include various museums, art galleries, performing arts venues, artist studios and more.

            The Center for Maine Contemporary Art is located just a few miles outside of Camden in the city of Rockport .  The museum is open throughout the year, Tuesdays through Saturday from 10am – 5pm, and Sundays from 1pm – 5pm.  It is closed on Mondays.  General admission is $5, and discounts for seniors and students are available.  This location has for over 50 years been the center for contemporary art in the state of Maine , and has a large permanent collection, with exhibits continuously moving through.

            The Bayview Gallery, located in the city of Camden , is only one of the many art galleries in the area.  There are two Bayview Galleries in Maine , and they both display paintings from some of the area’s best artists. 

            The Bay Chamber Concerts’ website is a good place to look for times and dates of upcoming shows.  Over the course of the year, there are two times during which a heavy dose on concerts fill the area:  The Summer Music Festival is held during July and August, and the Performing Arts Series organizes events from June through September.
