Diamond Cove is a historic restoration of what used to be Fort McKinley from 1890 - 1945. Ft. McKinley served as a coastal artillery base that protected Portland Harbor. Its also a popular vacation destination. The Barracks buildings and the Officer's row homes are Queen Anne Style and the units there have 2 - 6 bedrooms. Its great for couple and families, for reunions, weddings or just quiet getawats. There is a 4 star restaurant on the island called the Diamond's Edge and they also cater events.
Visitors are welcome to tour the historic site, enjoy the restaurant or the general store. But oherwise it is private property. Owners, guetss and renters have access to all sorts of ammenities.
