Right in Ocean City or nearby, there are a host of sports and activities you can enjoy. They range from golfing, sailing, fishing and laying on the beach.

Enjoying the beach and ocean are prime activities in Ocean Beach. In the busy summer season, be sure to stake your place on the beach early, because it can get busy. Although you could spend an entire day or more than one day frolicking in the surf, be sure to spend some time on the historic boardwalk, playing games and riding the amusement park-type rides. Eating is essential on the boardwalk, so make that a planned activity as well.

If you want to get a little further away from the hub and activity, consider a side trip to the Fenwick Island Lighthouse, which was built in an unusual spot – literally on the Mason-Dixon Line, and was operational until 1978.

If you golf, there are a number of golf courses within a 20-minute drive of Ocean City’s beaches. If you don’t golf, there are a number of other active diversions. How about surfing or parasailing (if the weather is right)? You might head out for a boat ride or find a local festival to enjoy.

Thanks to its status as a tourist draw, there are a number of interesting little stores and shops to enjoy.
