Rocky Neck Art colony is a charming artists colony located in Gloucester, MA, north of Boston.  It is the oldest working artist colony in the United States.  It came to prominence in the 1840's and has seen artists as divserse as Fitz Henry Lane, Emile Gruppe and Childe Hassam among its residents.  Writers such as Louisa May Alcott and Rudyard Kipling also spent time here.  Today it is still the home to many working artists and galleries.
