Rockport is the best place for dining with a view. Almost every restaurant is on the water and some have spectacular ocean views. Brackett’s Restaurant is one of the best, with large windows that overlook the bay. As you eat you can see for miles around and sometimes you even see seals jumping in the water. The food is the best and so is the service. The prices are on the high side, but the view is worth it. You should make reservations because it fills up quickly. Ellen’s Harborside has the best seafood with the best prices. The view is not as good, but you can still see the water with boats going by. Helmut’s Strudel has delicious homemade strudel, croissant sandwiches and coffee. You won’t find better pastry. You can sit on the deck that overlooks the harbor. Lobster in the Ruff is just what the name says. You order your meal and it is served on wooden picnic benches on paper plates. The seafood is delicious and fresh and you over look Motif #1, the most famous structure in Rockport. My Place by the Sea at the end of historic Bearskin Neck has excellent views of both the harbor and the ocean with indoor and outdoor seating.
