The Museum des Bastides is located directly above the local Office du Tourism, in the central square of Monflanquin.

The helpful and multi-linguil staff at the tourism office offer a range of useful information and brochures in Multiple languages about this historic and relatively untouched perched village.

The museum is free and offers visitors a good explanation of how and why these beautiful perched villages were first established in France's south west, along with offering an inkling into the life of medieval France.

The museum provides a good introduction to visitors who use Monflanquin as an affordable base to explore the Lot-et-Garonne area of south west France.   Much quieter and less "touristy" than other Bastide towns, Monflanquin allows visitors to see more of an authrntic view of regional French living.
