There are seven separate wineries located on or nearby Route M-37 in Old Mission Penninsula. They are: 2 Lads Winery, Chateau Chantel, Bowers Harbor Winery, Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery, Chateau Grand Traverse, Peninsula Cellars, and Black Star Farms. All offer tasting rooms open at 11 AM each day. Unless your guest accomodations are located on the peninsula, it is advisable that a day trip Wine Trail Tour start at 2 Lads Winery; northernmost location on the peninsula, and work southerly toward the Traverse City limits.
Each of the wineries projects it's own character--from the "approachable comfort" of Black Star Farms and Bowers Harbor Vineyard & Winery; to the bold "neo-industrial" ambiance of 2 Lads Winery; to the chic and sumptuous Chateau Chantel, and Brys Estate. All of the wineries offer a different, slightly unique take on wine tasting. Staff in the tasting rooms are fully knowlegeble of the grapes and wines produced by the vineyards they represent.
The Peninsula drive itself is stunning, offering gorgeous overlooks of both East and West Grand Traverse Bay.
