St. Paul is made up of fifteen different neighborhoods.  In recent years, an effort has been made to bring St. Paul and its neighborhoods out of the shadow of Minneapolis, an effort which has focused primarily around the Downtown neighborhood.  The addition of the Minnesota Wild hockey team has helped, as has the increase in trendy restaurants and trendy new loft apartments.  Just years earlier, many of these trendy loft spaces were unused warehouse buildings.  Now, an increasingly high number of pre-professionals are moving into the area's new loft apartments and frequenting the new loft-style restaurants.

The Summit Hill neighborhood is noted for being the home of writer F. Scott Fitzgerald.  Currently, it is the home of writer Garrison Keillor.  Fans of actor Josh Harnett should know that Josh attended nearby Cretin-Derham Hall, and baseball buffs will be excited to learn that current Minnesota Twins catcher, Joe Mauer, also attended Cretin-Derham Hall (although not at the same time as Mr. Harnett).

Como Park neighborhood is located around Lake Como, a large recreational lake.  Facilities include a golf course, a bike path, and the Como Zoo, where Sparky the Sea Lion is always a big draw.
