The Washington County Historical Museum, also known as the Warden’s House Museum, which dates back to 1853 when it was built as the residence for the Minnesota Territorial Prison Warden, has been a museum since the 1970s. It features numerous historic items that chronicle the history of Washington County, including rooms dedicated to the various industries in the region including the timber industry. The Warden’s House Museum is open from May through October; admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children. It is open Thursday through Sunday, from 1pm until 5pm. Check in advance to make certain hours have not changed.
