Red Square is a bar inside the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino designed in the style of the Cold War Soviet Union, complete with a headless, pigeon dotted statue of V.I. Lenin outside the front doors. The bar and restaurant specializes in a seemingly endless string of vodka and martini drinks served over a bar covered in ice. If you’re wondering just what happened to poor Mr. Lenin’s noggin, it presides over the joint from a shelf behind the bar.
The decor is reminescent of a czar’s palace with wide open spaces, floor-to-ceiling propaganda posters, lavish drapery and a huge chandelier. The prices can be a bit steep at about $8 a shot and $11 for the cheapest martini, but the ambiance and attractive staff make it a nice Las Vegas experience. Award-winning restaurant as well.
Red Square is the 2004 Las Vegas Weekly Readers’ Choice for Martini.
Las Vegas Weekly’s 2004 Nightie Awards named Red Square Best Dining with a Scene.
