The main dining experences in the area are on Jl Laksamana with many more just a short distance away.

Rumours: noisy atmospheric place with a great buzz and really good international food. Not too expensive but always busy so be prepared to wait for a table.

Ultimo's: formerly known as Toscanna and the sister to a Jakarta reataurant of the same name. Suffered in the past from high prices even though the food was out of this world.  Now this is one of the best value italian restaurants you will find anywhere. The service is outstanding and the food excellent

Trattoria: Like Rumours always busy and often difficult to get a table. The starters are excellent and pretty good value, but the mains either pasta or meat courses are not up to the same standard.

Mykonos: Almost at the end of Jl. Laksamana very popular Greek restaurant where the menu is typically taverna style and the food likewise, unpretentious and well cooked. The house wine here (both red and white) is very good.

Nirwana Snack A very well priced little cafe on Jl Petitenget offering a wide selection of gourmet munchies , fresh noodle dishes , big burgers , steaks and wraps plus cheap drinks .

Wild Ginger: Very stylish place between trattoria and Ultimos that never seems that busy, people who have eaten there say it is very good and on the next trip it is one to try.

Living Room: A little out of the way on Jl. Oberoi the main restaurant is delightful and there is also an outdoor dining area which is very nicely dressed if just a little too dark for some. The service was  very good and the menu whilst not extensive was full of interesting choices and the food was well cooked.Unfortunately the prices here are very high and the general feeling was that although food and service were excellent that the prices were still too high

Ku De Ta: Surely the worst kept secret in Bali, this is THE place to take in the sunset and people watch.Prices are high and the sheer number of staff make you realise why.The period immediately before sunset up to about 9 at night is when this place excells, great atmosphere good music and the food is also excellent. At weekend it is better to book a table for dinner as the sunset crowd fill the restaurant and don't start leaving until well after 9 o'clock

Café Seminyak: In the heart of Seminyak just in front of the Bintang dept store you will find this really nice place with a terrace,a free wifi spot and most of Bali expat community sitting there and chatting. They have Bali coffee and cakes, Indonesian food ( gado gado or Sea food mie goreng) French sandwiches like croquet monsieur, jambon beurre or the monster merguez sandwiches filled with French fries and topped with traditional Provencal tomatro sauce .

A place where you will make new friends and for sure find your oldest one, as everyone is passing by. They also offer live music some evenings with a Balinese priest playing spiritual flamenco.
