There are many other communities in the Greater Taos area that the visitor should look at in Trip Advisor in order to get a complete picture of all of the lodging and dining options in the area. The immediately surrounding areas of Arroyo Hondo, Arroyo Seco, El Prado, Taos Ski Valley on the northside of Taos, as well as Ranchos de Taos on the southside of Taos all offer quality establishments. Many are within 5 to 10 minutes of Taos Plaza and have fantastic views, quiet surroundings, rural settings and amazing sunsets. Many of these establishments are also much closer to hiking, skiing, white water rafting, horseback riding, llama trekking, Taos Pueblo, and other museums and sights than the listings for Taos alone. All of the websites that follow as well as nationally recognized travel publications (Frommers, Fodors, Great Destinations, Moon Guides, etc) will show these areas as part of Taos. It is only Trip Advisor that separates out these integral neighborhoods from being considered "Taos".
There are a number of resources available to help you plan the perfect trip to Taos. Located at 1130 Paseo del Puebla Sur, here you can gather information about area attractions as well as grab a city map to help you navigate around town. In addition, before leaving town, take a look at the online Taos Vacation Guide.
