Shelving Rock Falls is a little-known attraction and is well worth the 15 minute hike. Although there are ways to get to it by car, you can also get there by boat. From Bolton Landing, go directly east to Log Bay. Ask anyone around where the trails are. Follow them until you come to a small wooden bridge. The water you are crossing is water from the falls.
Follow a small footpath up the right side of the stream (basically follow the water) and in about 15 minutes, you will be there. It's not Niagra, but it's peaceful, pretty and well worth the hike. To keep the landscape pristine, whatever your bring with you, please bring back down. Littering spoils the enjoyment other people want to experience.
If you need a boat to get across the lake, you can rent one nearby.
