Charlotte's nightlife really shines on Friday and Saturday nights Uptown. Along the intersection of 5th Street and Tryon there are tons of bars and clubs to meet just about anyone's taste. Here you can find an Irish Pub (Connolly's) with Guinness on tap but no food served, Ri Ra's which is a chain but is nonetheless a popular spot for diners and live music junkies, The Attic, Brick and Barrel and the Fox & Hound and Rockbottom Brewery. Nightlife during the week can be a little lackluster, with the exception of the Happy Hour crew.
After the sun sets, hit up the rockin’ nightlife scene at the EpiCentre, home to a handful of hotspots all within the confines of one very cool Center City address. Or, Hot new developments like the mixed-use EpiCentre continue to make waves with nightlife destinations ranging from a dueling piano bar to an upscale bowling lounge – all within the confines of one urban locale.
Historic South End’s Gallery Crawl takes place the first Friday of each month. Hop aboard the Vintage Trolley Bus leaving every 15 minutes and venture to eight galleries ranging from fine art photography to contemporary abstracts. Or check out NoDa’s Gallery Crawl every first and third Friday of the month featuring a self-guided gallery tour. Breaks at neighborhood watering holes and music venues along the route are highly encouraged.
Wednesdays go to Therapy Marketplace and Cafe for half off martinis - they have a huge selection and the menu's on their web site (401 N. Tryon St.)

On Thursday evenings during late spring through early fall, Charlotteans abandon the traditional happy hour for good vibrations and good company. Alive After Five at EpiCentre brings together favorite cover and jam bands, cool beverages, and Charlotte professionals looking for a work-week break.
Hopefully other Charlotteans will add to this list to help out future visitors!
