Lockkeepers is one of those places that has always been great and just keeps getting better.  What was once just the "birthday and anniversary" place, or where you went to seal that HUGE contract, it's now a great place just to go on a Tuesday.  The food is superb as is the service, and it's nice to go to Valley View -- away from the east side, the west side, and downtown.  It's like a breath of fresh air.  One of the complaints people have about Lockkeepers is that it's just too pricey.  That may have been true two years ago, but just not so anymore.  They have a good variety on their menu, including a "demi plate" selection with smaller entrees (larger than an appetizer) complete with sides and the most expensive one is just $18.  The bar menu has some terrific selections, and their wine list just can't be beat.  It has at least 600 labels on it.  The sommelier, Chris Oppewall, is great to work with for suggestions.  Seriously, tell him what you like and use your own words and also tell him how much you want to spend.  He will know exactly what you will enjoy.  The filet mignon at Lockkeepers is far and away the best anywhere in Cleveland, and I love that the entrees come with a full complement of perfectly matched side dishes.  Executive Chef Pamela Waterman is very particular about what goes with what -- she firmly believes foods complement each other and she goes to great lengths to make sure everything on the plate has a purpose for being there.  The desserts are out of this worlds, as are the breads, because they have a pastry chef on site.  Sunday Brunch at Lockkeepers is what brunch is supposed to be.  They have the most elegant food and the best selection and at a terrific price - just $28.  They also have beautiful private dining rooms upstairs.  One is called the Sommelier Room and seats up to 10.  It is a gorgeous room next to the red wine cellar overlooking the dining room.  The grand ballroom can hold up to 150.  The food is the same as what you'll eat in the restaurant -- no rubber chicken dinners here!  The wine tasting series on Friday nights are more like a cocktail party than a wine tasting.  For just $25 you taste 8 wines and nibble on light hors d'oeuvres while getting to know new friends.  It's very lively and fun and the perfect way to kick off a weekend.  Their menus and everything else are online at www.lockkeepers.com.
