Here is a calendar of the main annual events held in Whitstable. By far the most popular is Whitstable Oyster Festival which attracts several thousands of people - a great atmosphere, but may be too congested for some. A park & ride service is usually provided at Estuary View business park by the A299 exit.

May Day Celebrations, May Day Bank Holiday (first Monday in May).  Annual "Jack In The Green" parade and morris dancing.

Whitstable Biennale, 31 May - 15 June 2014. Biannual festival of contemporary visual art, film and performance.

Whitstable FunDay Sunday, 22 June 2014. Annual family fun day at Tankerton Slopes

Whitstable Classic Car & Motor  Show,  June.  Annual display of 200+ classic cars and other attractions at Tankerton Slopes.

Whitstable Regatta, 12th & 13th July 2014. Popular annual family weekend event at Tankerton Slopes. Ends with grand firework display.

Whitstable Oyster Festival, 26 July - 1 Aug 2014. Hugely popular annual event showcasing the town's oyster heritage.

Whitstable Brewery Beer Festival is also held during the first weekend of the Oyster Festival. Real ale & music.

Whitstable Barge & Smack Race, August. Usually the weekend after the Oyster Festival. Traditional Thames Barges & Smacks competing.

Whitstable Harbour Day,  August. Less busy than the Oyster Festival, but still popular. Barge race and family events.

Whitstable Carnival, August. Parade of floats through the town

Tankerton Christmas Market, first Sunday of December. Held in Whitstable Castle & Gardens - a rare opportunity to see inside the castle.
