Bend doesn’t follow the idea of constant rain and high humidity that defines the Northwest. Bend is nestled in the Central Oregon High Desert, and this location ensures lower percentages of rain compared to other regions of Oregon and, at the same time, plenty of snow in Winter. Bend has its highest temperatures hitting the 80s F in July and August and the lowest in December and January when temperatures are in the 20’s.
Every season in Bend has something different to offer the traveler. If you are winter sports fan, include Bend as one of your favorite spots for skiing. The city is equipped with the facilities and the renting stores that will put you on the mountains ready to ski, snow hike, snow board or cross ski.
If you visit Bend in Summer, you can enjoy the innumerable trails where you can hike or bike. Local businesses will provide you with the necessary equipment to conquer your favorite mountain or trail system. There are many books where the trails are detailed with descriptions of their level of difficulty.
