Although Cannon Beach can be visited throughout the year without encountering overly extreme temperatures, certain months of the year are much more pleasant than others.

The weather in Cannon beach is not very stable, so regardless of the information about yearly averages that follows, visitors should be prepared for the unexpected.

The warmest months of the year are July, August, and September, during which time the daily high temperatures will hover in the lower 70’s.  Temperatures do reach the lower 80’s, but this is generally as hot as it will get.  Nighttime temperatures during these months will drop to the low 50’s on average.  The coolest months of the year are December, January, and February, during which time the daily highs will generally reach the mid 50’s, and the nighttime temperatures will dip to the mid 30’s.  Freezing temperatures during the winter months do occur, but this is not the norm.

Cannon Beach is a wet community, as it frequently rains during every month of the year.  The wettest months on average are November and December, during which time nearly twelve inches of rain will fall in each month.  The driest months of the year are July and August, which are perfect for heading to the beach.
