MORNING

Located just a short drive off Route 38, north of Butler, is the Glass Blowing Center.  Enjoy witnessing the artistic wonder of glass blowing by talened artisans who demonstrate and teach.  A wonderful shop to purchase glass artwork is offered.  Next stop is the coolest toy store on the planet, Playthings, Etc.  The building itself is a work of art giving the appearance that a stealth bomber has landed.  Inside the owners demonstrate an unbelievable array of interesting and unusual toys.  They also encourage participation by everyone.  Toy selections include traditional offerings and also the newest toys for "kids and their kids, too."

 

LUNCH

Located in Slippery Rock, The North Country Brewing Company provides an opportunity to sample the art of brewing both fine beers and cream sodas.  Both the atmosphere and the cuisine are an artistic adventrue that should not be missed.  Stop by the town gazebo to take in the James Myford aluminum sculpture as well as a variety of murals painted by local artists.

 

AFTERNOON

A short drive to Butler offers the opportunity to visit the Associated Artists of Butler County gallery, which includes a variety of artwork displays by excellent artists.  A short distance from there is the fascinating Maridon Museum, which houses a priceless and beautiful collection of Asian art and sculpture. 

 

DINNER

At the conclusion of your artfully lovely day, plan to visit SIBA on Route 228, where you can enjoy an superb culinary creation.  Don't miss the sculptures in front of the restaurant... they are sure to make you laugh.
