Besides theatrical performances and musical concerts (see The Performing Arts), Hilton Head has several clubs in which island visitors can pleasantly while away the evening. The majority of them are on the south side of the island, primarily in the “Barmuda Triangle,”. There are several bars that all open off a shared open court yard. When the weather is nice, the area SLOWLY gains patrons until about 10pm...then it's big time till 2am. The Lodge features a large selection of craft beers, burgers and a few table games. One Hot Mama's 7A Greenwood Dr (843) 682-6262 is a busy dance spot with DJ's spining a mix of Latin, Rap, and techno and pop dance tunes. The Brew Pub is a little more spacious, with beer brewed on site and features pure rap dance groove with plenty of room to throw down on the dance floor. The Board Room 4 Greenwood Dr (843) 363-6636 is a small outdoor live music venue, with some very talented local performers. Reilleys Pub is a quiet comfortable Irish bar with good food, good drinks, and HDTV's. All are located in the "Barmuda Triangle" (Hilton Head Plaza off Greenwood Dr.). The area is a lot of fun for the young drinking set and Irish of all ages. During the day and eariler in the evening (before 9) go to this same area for the relative quiet and some good quality food.

Near Coligny Beach are a couple of other options. Big Bamboo is upstairs in Coligny Plaza and features cover bands and good pub grub in an erstaz WWII quonset hut atmosphere. It can be a lot of fun for all ages. For a more stylish evening try Danel's. The upscale tapas, VERY extensive bar selection, and beautiful wood decor with interesting lighting make this an interesting place to drop by. Daniel's 2 N Forest Beach Dr #108 frequently has entertainment that can range from a DJ to free salsa lessons. Check their website to see what is going on this week danielshhi.com . Java Joes Coffee House 101 Pope Ave (843) 686-5282 serves coffee, baked goods, and mixed drinks in a fun atmosphere that often includes live entertainment.

If it's all too much noise and bother...how about a nice quiet stroll on the beach by starlight? Just be careful not to disturb any nesting sea turtles or hatchlings during turtle season (May 1 to Oct 31). Both mothers and babies are very sensitive to light...it could lead to the death of them. Please Do Not Shine Flashlights or Take Flash Photographs of Nesting Turtles or hatchlings.
