For an island of only thirty thousand people, Hilton Head has a surprisingly large entertainment selection. The main attraction is the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, which, in addition to displaying art exhibits, puts on plays, music concerts and dance performances. However, it is by no means the only show in town. There are several other theatres, with the largest probably being the South Carolina Repertory Company, which stages about half a dozen plays a year. The smaller theatres include Stage II Productions, May River Theatre Company, and Hilton Head Community Youth Theatre.

Several music venues exist on the island to cater to different tastes. There are the Barbershoppers, an a cappella group that unfortunately only has one public performance a year. However, they holds rehearsals every Monday afternoon at Hilton Head Plantation, and visitors are always welcome. They are also available for event bookings and personalized serenades on Valentine’s Day. For instrumental concerts, try the Chamber Music Hilton Head or the Symphony Orchestra, both of which offer several concerts a year. There is also the Jazz Corner, a club featuring live music and a dance floor, and High Tide Entertainment, which hosts concerts by guest performers such as Kenny Rogers and Hootie and the Blowfish.

Finally, there is the Hilton Head Dance School & Theatre, which puts on a variety of classical and modern dance performances throughout the year.
