Located northeast of San Antonio, off Interstate 35, New Braunfels is an easy destination in Texas to reach by car. The highways are well traveled and Texas does a good job of keeping its roads and freeways in fine shape. Drivers can get the latest information, including road updates via 530 AM on their radios. A visitor center is also located along IH-35 to provide information on area attractions.

If you’re coming from further away, then flying to New Braunfels is another option that will get there to a brand new facility. The New Braunfels Municipal Airport (BAZ) opened a new 5,000 square foot terminal building, and the airport offers courtesy cars to those flying in with their own planes. Rental cars are also available at the airport.

Most air passengers will have to fly to the larger San Antonio International Airport , which is located about an hour an half from New Braunfels. Air service is provided on many major carriers including American, AmericaWest, Delta, Continental, NorthWest and United. Ground transportation from San Antonio include taxicab and limousine, shuttle bus service and rental cars. Head to the baggage claim area for ground transportation, where service counters for the rental car agencies are located. Cabs and buses will be outside the baggage claim area.
