Downtown Plano is a mixture of curio stores and antiques dealers. Costume shops, Mexican furniture, or a hand crafted sculpture are a few examples of items a traveler could stumble upon downtown. There are several friendly store owners who extend their hospitality with tea service.

There are innumerable strip malls in Plano. The Central Expressway is a road to retail variety establishments like Barnes & Noble, World Market, and Bed, Bath, & Beyond. This is useful for quickly picking up a birthday gift or party favor, provided there are relatives or friends in the vicinity. Consider one of the shopping malls for  a larger scale shopping experience.

The Shops at Willowbend Mall often has good sales and a few high end stores left.

Walk through the numerous hallways of prairie style architecture. Etched glass archways open the mall to natural light. It is a relaxing environment in which to complete shopping errands and enjoy a light lunch.

You will encounter 20 stores with rock bottom prices at the Plano Outlet Mall. It is also called Plano Square Mall. Chain bargain stores such as TJ Maxx and Anderson's Furniture sell brand name home decorations and clothing at a considerable savings.

There are no actual  speciality designer discount stores. The remaining outlets are local manufacturers and small businesses that have opened inside the mall.
