San Angelo has a lot of great non-chain resturants to eat at. Looking for the best steak in town? Twin Mountain Steak house has an amazing smoked prime rib. Best Chinese Buffet? Its a tie between China Garden and Lins. Best breakfast Burritos? Try the Corner Stop.  Other major dining venues include Ichiban's and Western Sky. Western Sky Steakhouse has great lunch specials, the best hamburgers and cheeseburgers around, and a pleasant and homey family dining atmosphere.

Two other options to consider are Peasant Village and Paco's Place. Peasant Village has a romantic ambiance with fantastic cuisine. Paco's Place has excellent service and a famous enchilada casserole.

While strolling historic Concho Street and its many shops, stop in at Miss Hatties for lunch or dinner, make your way over to the corner of Oakes and Twohig for a sandwich at the Cactus Cafe, or to Chadbourne and Beauregard for authentic Mexican food at Fuentes.  There is a wide variety of downtown eateries to satisy every taste and budget.
