The Charlottesville area is served by Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport, a small commercial airport 8 miles north of the city. The affiliates of four air carriers fly into the airport—Delta, United, U.S. Airways and Northwest—for a total of 60 non-stop flights daily from Charlotte, Philadelphia, New York/LaGuardia, Washington/Dulles, Cincinnati, and Atlanta. Obviously a traveler’s options are limited by the select number of origin cities, but if you are lucky enough to have access to direct service, the Charlottesville Airport is small and easy to navigate, with the full lineup of taxi companies, courtesy hotel shuttles and car rental services.
