Travelers may appear to be in the middle of nowhere, but they are far from stranded. Jost Van Dyke offers resort amenities and a variety of attractions. Granted, there are no art museums or major archaeological sites. However, there are 7 miles of paradise awaiting discovery. During the low season, travelers must only share this 7 miles with a handful of local people.
The Great Harbor and White Bay are the primary oceanfronts. Great Harbor is the arrival point from the
ferry
and docking area for all yachts. White Bay is only a 15 to 20 minute walk over the hill. Familiar
watersports
like scuba diving, sailing, and snorkeling are accessible in both locations.
White Bay is home to famed White Bay walk. Every restaurant and bar sits on the water so that visitors can always intake the phenomenal view. Small shops and tourism outfits also are in the vicinity. A few overnight accommodation options are available in White Bay including guesthouses, vacation homes, and a campground.
Green Cay and Sandy Cay are oases off the coast of Jost Van Dyke. These natural recreation areas supply days of beachcombing, scuba diving, or swinging in a hammock. Green Cay is a highly regarded diving site due to its diverse ecosystem and Sandy Cay is deserted, palm tree sand bar.
