The Broadway Center for the Performing Arts is located in the heart of Downtown Tacoma and features three full theaters (Pantages, Rialto, and Theatre on the Square). Tacoma’s International Music Festival is held here every summer, as are special performances and community outreach programs. There is also an extensive season of musical concerts, comedies, musicals, modern drama and dance shows between October and May each year. Single tickets may be purchased through the online system at www.broadwaycenter.org or by calling the box office (253-591-5894 or 1-800-291-7593). Tickets also go on sale two hours before each event. Students and senior citizens get a 10% discount, while children under 12 get a 20% discount. Day-of rush tickets are also available for seniors and students sometimes.

Another theater in Tacoma is the Champions Theatre (1819 E 72nd St), a Christian organization that does a few religious productions and events every year. There is also the Tacoma Musical Playhouse (7116 6th Ave), which offers tickets to their musicals and specialty shows online ( www.tmp.org) for about $20 a performance. They also have a Murder Mysteries series that is $35 per show, which includes dinner.

Tacoma is also home to the Wintergrass Academy, an organization that holds an annual bluegrass festival every July and a Wintergrass concert every February. Tickets for these performances can be purchased through www.brownpapertickets.com or by calling them at 253-428-8056.
