Daniel vineyards has the finest selection of wines produced in the region, made with grapes grown, fermented and bottled on site. Dr. Daniel began his dream by planting 86 varieties of grapes, each one chosen for its potential to make great wine, on more than 10,000 vines.  The grape varieties that Dr. Daniel cultivates include those that will survive the region's sometimes harsh winters.

Located in the heart of the mountains of West Virginia, Kirkwood Winery offers in addition to the standard fare, wines that reflect their mountain heritage. Kirkwood Winery is home to the Isaiah Morgan Distillery, southern West Virginia's first mini-distillery which crafts Rye, Southern Moon, and Grappa spirits that can be purchased on-site.

Located in Weston, West Virginia, "It stands as a diminutive, Gothic looking structure on a hillside surrounded by a vineyard." The winery is constructed from hand cut stones gathered from various parts of West Virginia. Some weighing as much as 3,000 pounds. The doors are designed of solid two by fours on edge, with a rounded top. A comfortably furnished tasting room welcomes visitors as they enter. A 3-inch thick bar top, cut in the 1950'S in Canada, is set up in one corner. Behind the bar, a mantle and mirror top the sink. Also in the tasting room is a raised television in the corner opposite the bar. A fireplace is surrounded by three rocking chairs and shelves containing West Virginia pottery that is for sale. Behind the tasting room is a racking room, storage area, and a cooling room.

Ferenc "Frank" Androczi's Little Hungary Farm Winery offers tours and wine-tasting year-round. His wine, Melomel is the only honey mead produced in the state and according to the American Wine Association Magazine, "the organic-made Melomel is unique, not just to West Virginia and the USA, but maybe the world!" The Little Hungary Farm Winery was also listed in Guide to American Vineyards: A Guide to the Best Wineries for Touring and Tasting, by Pamela Stovall. The Jones Cabin Run Vineyards is a private site only opened to the public once a year by invitation only.
Alan and Elaine Wolfe aren't originally from West Virginia. He's from Pennsylvania and she's from Scotland. But according to the two nothing compares to Gilmer County. There are 10 or 11 different kinds of wine that come from Jones Cabin Run Vineyards. All varities from sweet to dry are sold throughout the state.
