Ironwood Ranch sits on acres of private land inaccessible to most. The horses are friendly, but the guides are very strict as noted in reviews. Accessing the ranch requires going down dirt / gravel roads. After signing a detailed liability waiver, you are placed with your horse. Since travelers may not get out of a set line one on their horses, savvy travelers would want to make certain they are in the order desiredfor the entire trip. For safety, horses may not be taken faster than "walking" speed at any point on the guided tour for even if you are an experienced rider. Also for safety reasons, the guides insist that you must maintain a full horse length between yourself and the horse in front of you.
The trip is through lush, exotic valleys, ironwood forests, and pineapple fields, while enjoying spectacular panoramic views of the outer islands! Nestled in the midst of unspoiled mountains, rain forests and farmland. While the experience is good and has received positive reviews from island publications. Ironwood Ranch offers refreshments and snacks at the end of every tour. The horses are very well treated and the trip is great.
