Lahaina has some of the best nightlife on the island. For a good old-fashioned Hawaiian lu’au, try Old Lahaina Lu’au. The traditional songs, chants, and hula dancing are performed at a small outdoor theater and you can either sit on a mat or at a table, and they serve food like kalua pig, lomi lomi salmon, and coconut pudding ( haupia). Also try the Royal Lahaina Luau.
The Feast at Lele is another lu’au that’s worth checking out. This lu’au is more formal, set on the beach, with a four-course meal and a good wine selection. The show itself combines the four cultures found on the island – Tahitian, Samoan, Tongan, and Hawaiian.
For a romantic night out, try a cocktail cruise out of Lahaina Harbor. These cruises usually last a couple of hours, and include an open bar, appetizers, and live music. If you’re lucky, you might also get to see some whales.
If you’re in the mood to see some magic, head to Warren & Annabelle’s, which serves "smoking cocktails" and crème brûlée, along with a good helping of magic tricks by host Warren Gibson. The atmosphere is fun, and the nightclub itself is rather fancy.
If you want to feel like one of the sailors (or pirates) that once frequented the area, head over to The Sly Mongoose. This bar is kind of seedy, but serves really good, strong drinks and is an adventure in itself. Or for a stylish lounge bar with smooth and groovy beats head to Timba.
There is live music at BJ's Pizza, Cool Cat's has jazz on Sunday night, Royal Lahaina hotel still has torch lighting with a singer and a dancer (mellow) nightly. Also a small free show nightly at eh Kaanapali Beach hotel. Some malls have free polynesian shows.
A Grammy winining group of slack key guitar have a show on Wednesdays at the Napili Kai resort approx $40
