The North Shore is a very laid-back area....very country, with sheep and cattle grazing, and lots of farms. There is not a lot to do, so it's best to come here if you truly want to relax.. Bring a good book!

Most of the complaints we get from tourists are about insects. Hey, they come with the turf! Ants are a way of life. The most important thing is to keep all food in ziploc bags or containers.

Nothing up here is elegant and most of the residents like it that way. The hotel is nice, and the condos are more like cottages. If people are looking for the Taj Mahal, they would be better off staying in Waikiki.

The area has a hard time finding enough help, and is always short of cleaning people, appliance repair men, and handymen. People who are qualified don't want to travel very far to work, and all the people in these categories who live on the North Shore are plenty busy. Sometimes tourists get frustrated with how long it takes to get things done. The people who live here are used to it. It's their way of life.

If you want to really slooooooooow down......come to the North Shore! It's beautiful!
