The number to reach Guam's emergency services is 9-1-1. This is a free call from landlines, pay phones, and mobile telephones. The dispatch center is manned 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, by trained and experienced emergency medical dispatchers, and officers from the Guam Police Department. When calling 9-1-1, the dispatcher can summons a response from a number of agencies, most especially the Guam Fire Department (for ambulance and fire services) and the Guam Police Department. They will take great care in determining the nature of your emergency and prioritize it to ensure that the most urgent incidents are attended to first.
If you have a medical emergency that does not require an ambulance, you have several options. If the patient's condition is extremely serious, Guam Memorial Hospital in Tamuning and the U.S. Naval Hospital in Agana Heights are open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Please note that the U.S. Naval Hospital is restricted for use by service members and their dependents only.
Alternatively, if the patient is not too critical, the Seventh-Day Adventist Clinic on Ypao Road in Tamuning (up the hill facing the Hilton Guam Hotel) and the Doctors Clinic (facing the Guam Memorial Hospital in Tamuning) operate extended hours. Note the Seventh-Day Adventist Clinic is generally closed on Friday afternoons and Saturdays in observance of religious practices, however the Doctors Clinic remains open on both of those days.
