If you crave an unusual placid day in Flushing, Queens, be sure to visit Kissena Park.  It is a large park, and the site of the former Parsons Tree Nursery. The park is a horticulturist's delight, with over 100 different types of trees (some rare/exotic) situated in an historic tree grove.   The park also features many  trails, a small lake filled with fish, turtles and waterfowl , and for the biking enthusiast -a veliodome (bike track).  In addition to the bike track , the park also includes tennis and handball courts and a  nearby golf course. This is a true sparkling gem situated right in the middle of this bustling queens neighborhood.
