Dyker Beach Golf Club is worth to play, as it is the closest golf course from Manhattan.
From Times Square it is 45 minutes ride on R train to 86th Street in Brooklyn and than 15 minutes walk.
The course is not very difficult to play and it's in good condition and well maintained, built around 1930.
What is little bit disturbing is absence of driving range and very limited club rental selection.
European "old school" players will definitely be disturbed by never ending noise and absolutely no dress code, so the people around you will play in jeans and non-collared t-shits and tennis shoes.
So if you are coming to New York with your own clubs and three other friends, don't need a warm-up, than Dyker Beach Golf Club is great choice.
