Olivas Links Golf Course is an award-winning 6,800 yard, Par 72 golf course owned by the City of Ventura. Designed in 2006 by Forrest Richardson. The course features a rolling links-style layout defined by seaside grasses, natural habitat and cool coastal breezes. The Ventura Seafest is an annual celebration is held at the Ventura Harbor Village. An interactive tide pool, face painting, a “moonbounce” and live entertainment are just a few of the many attractions provided, all of which are free and open to the public.
Annual 4th of July Street Fair brings more than 400 artisans to a dozen-block area of the cultural district. Arts and crafts and food from local restaurants, live entertainment, a children’s parade and children’s activities from 11 am to 5 pm. Visit www.venturastreetfair.com for more information.
The Ventura County Fair is held right at the beach, and features live entertainment in the Grandstand Arena, with past years’ world class talent ranging from Lonestar to The Wallflowers.
Music Under the Stars , a series of concerts held outdoors at the Olivas Adobe every Saturday from July 8 to September 9. Featured musicians include Porterhouse Bob, a New Orleans blues singer and pianist, Bandidos de Amor, a Flamenco group, and Lisa Haley and the Zydekats, a five-piece Cajun fiddler band, among others.
Whale Watching - Blue and Humpback Whales to come to Ventura’s waters as they migrate south to feed in the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary. Island Packers does day-long whale watching trips , which depart from the Ventura Harbor at 9 am and return between 4 and 5 pm. Excursions are $60 for adults, $45 for children (3-12) and $55 for seniors (55+).
Cycling - three to eight passenger Surrey cycles for all ages 1 to 99 to ride the Ventura beach promenade.
