This Atlanta institution is tucked away near a motor lodge along a seedy stretch of Cheshire Bridge, just off Piedmont Road. But don't let this scare you. It's a hidden secret and very family friendly -- especially now that the clouds of smoke have disappeared with the new ordinance. It has a great selection of southern faves --- small plates piled with greens, macaroni, pole beans, creamed corn and other stewed veggies. There is a generous selection of meats and seafood. The standouts include fried chicken, spare ribs and the large fried shrimp platter. There is usually a wait and the crowd can be eclectic -- mixing the elderly with a gay clientele and families. But this is what makes it fun. A full bar is ready to serve.
