When you live and work in Salem, MA it can be difficult to be objective about the sights and attractions that the Village has to offer.  Salem is a very friendly community, and it's not out of the ordinary for locals to assist visitors with directions and advice on which attractions are worth the price of admission.  The Witches Cottage at The Griffen Theatre outshines the rest BY FAR!!

From the street the facade of the Cottage is quaint and inviting, one simply cannot resist stopping in.  Eric is a perfect example of the kind residents in Salem.  He is warm and welcoming, and in comparison VERY accomodating to Salem's many tourists.  His demeanor is relaxed and friendly; a far cry from the "carnival" atmosphere of many other tour establishments throughout town.

This performance is completely top rate!!  It is far superior to any in Salem.  The theatre is small and comfortable, the special effects are outstanding, and the acting is that of professionals.  There is no hesitation in saying that it is so well put together in all areas that you will sit in the theatre in amazed silence throughout the performance.  There are a few bits that are a bit scarey, and not at all over-the-top.  The price is absolutely reasonable.  You will literally want to walk back in the next performance after leaving the one that has just ended!

When you come to Salem, do NOT miss this little gem.  It's tucked away off the high streets but don't worry, Salem is quite small and everything is accessible by foot.  If you don't fancy walking, you can take a pedi cab!
