In its 2008 America’s Favorite Cities survey, Travel + Leisure magazine named San Antonio the nation’s top city for affordability. To get the most out of your visit, make the San Antonio Visitor Information Center your first stop when visiting. Situated between the Alamo and River Walk, it’s where you can find free maps of downtown, the Mission Trail and other areas; browse brochures from theme parks, restaurants, museums and other attractions; get discounts through the San Antonio Vacation Experience (SAVE); and ask welcoming staff your questions on everything from where to eat to what San Antonio events are happening during your stay. The Visitor Information Center is open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. seven days a week.
