The Museo Alameda is sponsoring its second installment of the American Sabor Music Fest on Saturday, September 19 in historic Market Square in the heart of downtown San Antonio. The day-long concert event will take place between 2:00 pm and 11:00 pm and will feature over twenty local and national acts, playing music from a variety of genres. The festivities are being held in correlation with the Museo Alameda's exhibition entitled "American Sabor: Latinos in U.S. Popular Music," now showing in the Smithsonian Gallery of the Museo Alameda. This exhibition tells the story of the profound influence and impact of Latinos in American popular music, focusing on five major centers of Latino popular music production in the post-World War II United States: New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco and, of course, San Antonio.
American Sabor Music Fest is free of admission and open to the public. Classic San Antonio food and art will be for sale, and cold beer will be available all day.
